Bobcats prepare for new season

HOPE – The Hope Bobcat Football program is back in training as the start of classes Tuesday brings the 2019 season closer to its Sept. 6 opening date.

The season gets underway Sept. 6 in Nashville against traditional non-conference rival Nashville Scrappers at 7:30 p.m. The 2019 home opener for the Cats will be against Prescott on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at Hammons Stadium.

The Bobcats will run the “spread” on offense, again, this year; and, will use a 4-2-5 defense, Bobcat Head Coach Phillip Turner has said.

The Cats have two weeks before they take on Lake Hamilton in a preseason scrimmage Aug. 27 at Hammons Stadium at 5:30 p.m. for both junior high and high school programs.

Varsity coaching staff for 2019 includes head coach Turner, assistant head coach Jonathan Turner, and assistant coaches Zac Hoglund, Paul Morrow, Josh Marshall, and Eryc McCaslin.

Season tickets for the 2019 season are on sale at Hope High School. Co-athletic Director Susan Powers said reserved bench seating is $100 per bench. Reserved seat tickets for home games are $25 each. General admission tickets will cost $5 at the Hammons Stadium MAC entrance and the 18th Street gate.

Season tickets may be reserved by calling Powers at 870-331-0058 during regular business hours.
