Hope Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hart thanked the Hope Lions Club for its kickoff donation to the district’s “needs pantry” program to provide supplemental nutrition and incidental items for daily use which students might not otherwise afford to purchase. With more than 100 students in the HPS certified as “homeless” under federal guidelines, Dr. Hart said the daily need for food security is a barrier to learning for many students. Individuals and local businesses or organizations interested in donating needed items or making monetary donations to the initiative should contact Hart at 870-722-2700. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools
