bhe bee project

The Farm Bureau Women's Committee came to Beryl Henry School on April 14 and presented the Bee Project. They brought an observatory with live bees and the students viewed them. They then searched for the Queen Bee. Students learned about the process of the hive with the Queen, drones and worker bees working together. The bees go pick up the nectar on their legs and bring it back to hive. The presenters then explained the process of making the honey. The students were given a straw of honey and fun worksheets and the teacher was given a small bottle of honey. The students had fun and the Committee members had just as much fun with them. Around 100 students and 5 committee members attended the program in the cafeteria  and everyone had a great time. Thanks to all who participated! Pictures and information provided by Deanna Gilbert.
