Hope Public Schools is embarking on an endeavor that could increase college attendance rates and greatly influence the educational landscape of Hempstead County. HPS is laying the ground work for development of the Hope Bobcat Early College Academy. The Academy proposes to take students whose parents choose and commit to a college preparation program of study that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) as well as Public Service. The district is currently considering piloting the program for students in grades 5-8 in the 2016 school year, and potentially will be housed on the Garland campus. Look for more details and announcements soon.
