The HHS Botcats competed in BEST Robotics in Little Rock on Nov. 9. We participated in all four events and won awards in three of them. Engineering Notebook, Marketing, Exhibit and Interviews, Marketing, and the final event, the Robot Event. Team members: Trynnity Martin, Piper Samuel, Jair Arroyo, Ramsey Beck, Ethan Walker, De’Maurya Banks, Karah Bowden, Alexis Juarez, Jesus Fraire-Martinez, Manual Fraire-Martinez, Mrs. Knight, Edwin Martinez, Addison Brown.
Our first 5 drivers decided to wear all black and soon became known as “The Men in Black” These guys (and Ethan Walker, not pictured) took us to the finals, but a weak motor due to an issue with it gearbox kept us from making the top 4 teams.
Our Marketing team: Ramsey Beck, Jair Arroyo, Piper Samuel, and Edwin Martinez brought home 3rd place for us.
Piper Samuel, Addison Brown, and Trynnity Martin led the Team Exhibit and Interviews, which brought home 4th place.
Ramsey Beck, editor and lead writer, earned 4th place. Overall, the BotCats had a great day and made their coach Mrs. Knight, and mentors Val Knight, Rusty Beck, Tommy Samuel, Mason Samuel, and Ben Knight super proud.
