students hold welding certificates for 2f welding

Congratulations to Hunter Godwin, Isaiha Crocker, and Jaylien Valdez! Each of these students earned their United Welding Institute American Welding Society 2 F Certification after recently completing the necessary coursework and hands-on ability demonstrations. 2F means these students are certified to work on horizontal fillet welds and are automatically certified for 1G and 1F welds as well (see diagram below fro examples).

The United Welding Institute (UWI) is a premiere welding school located in Pottsville, Arkansas. Thanks to funding through the Guy Perkins CTE grant and through HPSD Federal Magnet Grant contributions, these students traveled to Pottsville, attended the classes, and took the certification assessments to completion.

Jeremiah Humphrey from UWI was on hand to present the certifications and to demonstrate TIG welding techniques to students in the recently renovated Agri Building as well. Pictures from those demonstrations will be shown in a separate post.

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS to these three Bobcats!! #GoBobcats #ALLIN #HopeForTheFuture
