HOPE – The Southwest Arkansas Arts Council is calling for students from the Hope Public Schools who are interested in a summer theater learning experience.

\r\n

Directed by Chris Espinosa, the SWAAC STAR Academy is open to students of all ages. Registration and tee shirt cost is $50 and scholarships are available for low to moderate income students.\r\n

\r\n

This year Espinosa is bringing the circus to town with an old-fashioned melodrama.\r\n

\r\n

The Notso Greatest Show on Earth, has come to the town of Terra Firma. Lions, tigers, and bears are not part of this show; however, the townspeople are excited to see this One-and-Half-Ring Circus of clowns, acrobats, and sideshows. Villains, Joan and Jett Blackheart, use this big top spectacle to plan their escape from the Terra Firma prison, rob the local bank, and skedaddle into the sunset. Fortunately, our heroes, Dusty and Rusty, are in town to see the circus and uncover the Blackheart’s prison break scheme. They save the day and send the villains back to prison.\r\n

\r\n

Practices and performance will be at Hempstead Hall on the University of Arkansas-Hope campus, and places are available for actors and production crew.\r\n
