HOPE – The Hope Public School District will undertake an initiative here June 13 to address mental health issues in school age children with the formation of a stakeholder working group.\r\n
\r\nHPSD Superintendent Bobby Hart announced the initiative in a letter which has been sent to a number of community organizations.\r\n
\r\n“In an attempt to help all students be successful, Hope Public Schools is starting a working group that will take on this problem and will attempt to offer solutions and action plans devoted to assisting young people,” Hart said.\r\n
\r\nThe first session of the working group is set for 8:30 a.m., June 13, at Hempstead Hall.\r\n
\r\n“Our initial meeting will consist of conversations that establish a mission and vision for our group as well as laying the groundwork for the future work,” Hart wrote.\r\n
\r\nHe said the district is seeking to bring as many different voices to the issue as possible; and, any interested group may send a representative by contacting Eva Scott at eva.scott@hpsdistrict.org online or calling 870-722-2700, ext. 12, by the close of business on June 12.\r\n
