HOPE – The Hope Public Schools Board of Education met in special session Wednesday and voted unanimously among members present to accept a recommendation for expulsion of a student.
HPS Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Crossley said his recommendation for the one calendar year expulsion included an opportunity to return to the district through the Creative Action Team School campus at the conclusion of the expulsion period.
The action was taken in an open session of the board after Dr. Crossley explained no representatives of the student would be present to address the issue before the board. He said appropriate notifications were made to the student’s parents.
The expulsion was the result of the student’s involvement in a Sept. 21 incident on the Hope High School campus, Crossley said.
