On Tuesday, November 29, Clinton Primary featured the 4th Grade Spelling Bee. Sixteen students took part in the competition, vying for spots in the Hempstead County Spelling Bee coming up in January. As the competition got underway, the first couple rounds saw all of the students successfully spelling their given words. It wasn't too long, however, before the competitors were eliminated and the final three competed for a winning outcome.
The overall winner was Mayleigh Mays! Second place went to Analy Baca and Parker Apthorp rounded out the top three. Mayleigh and Analy will compete at the Hempstead County Spelling Bee on January 16 at the Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative. Parker will serve as an alternate should one of the others not be able to participate.
Congratulations to our winner and finalists, and to ALL of the 4th graders who took part in the Spelling Bee competition!
