Papaya and literature at HAPS

Tasting Papaya

Hope Public Schools/Aramark Executive Chef Nick Collins passes out samples of papaya to students in Amber Tackett’s literature class at the Hope Academy of Public Service. The tropical fruit is high in the nutrient lycopene, which aids in digestion and has been suggested as an aid to preventing certain cancers, as well as stabilizing diabetes. The fruit is introduced in a reading the class studied. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools
