HOPE – Students at the Hope Academy of Public Service have their first service project of the year ready to go as HAPS partners with the HOPE Coalition to provide “student power” at the 22nd annual Family Health Expo on Aug. 26.\r\n
\r\nHAPS students will assist where permitted throughout the day, according to Principal Dr. Carol Ann Duke.\r\n
\r\nThe doors at Hempstead Hall on the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana campus will open at 10 a.m., and the expo will conclude at 2 p.m.\r\n
\r\nFree health screenings and information for all ages will be available with activities including games, door prizes, refreshments, blood drive, and screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose, vision, hearing, dental, and pulse status will be provided.\r\n
\r\nServices provided by Wadley Scan from Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana will be provided from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants must be age 18 or older, and registration is offered at 870-703-9815.\r\n
\r\nChildren attending the expo must be accompanied by an adult, and additional information is available by contacting Debbie Howard at 870-777-2191.\r\n
