Students in science classes of Nicole Rogers at the Hope Academy of Public Service put bottle rockets into flight recently as part of a project on the relationship between mass and acceleration. Each student designed and constructed a rocket from a plastic juice or soda bottle and were required to calculate the amount of water necessary to provide a mass sufficient to be launched using air pressure. The students also tracked the trajectory of each rocket to determine its height in flight. (See more launch photos on the HAPS Facebook page.) – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools
