This week HAPS celebrates Red Ribbon Week!
Monday- Members of the East Red Ribbon Week Team will pass out ribbons to advisory teachers. Please pass them out on Monday during 5th period. Students are encouraged to wear their ribbons all week. EAST students conducted an interview with our District Resource Officer that will be shared with advisors this week.
Art Contest - HAPS is also asking that students participate in a red ribbon week art contest during advisory. The theme this year is Be Yourself, Be Amazing, Be Drug-Free. Entries will be judged on Thursday.

Mrs. Lori Arnette will be here on Monday and Wednesday to speak to students about the dangers of drugs and vaping.

NaturalHigh.org- this website is a great free resource that you can use throughout the year in advisory. It features short video stories on topics like resilience, peer influence, and goal setting. Each clip has a lesson plan and discussion questions that can be shared with students through google classroom. The site has created lessons specifically for red ribbon week.

HAPS students studied the scientific method, collecting, and analyzing data through 2 labs on Skittles. In the labs, students answered these questions: What is the most dominant color in a bag of Skittles? How long does it take for a Skittle to dissolve in hot and cold water?
