arroyo artwork

Help us congratulate Clinton Primary student Brigit Arroyo! Her artwork entitled "Sun and Moon" has been selected to appear in the Windgate Museum of Art at Hendrix College as part of a statewide K-12 annual art contest. Clinton Primary teacher Anna Waller started an after-school club for students interested in creating art to be submitted for the contest. She sent 10 complete works by various students before the Christmas break and learned that Arroyo's piece had been selected!

Statewide, there were over 600 pieces submitted and Brigit's is one of about 100 that were selected to be featured!

The artworks chosen will be hung in the gallery starting February 1, 2025. The display of all pieces is called "Observing Nature: An Exhibition of Nature Artworks by Arkansas K-12 Students Inspired by Mississippi Artist, Walter Anderson." Waller says, "Our after school students learned about Walter Anderson and the different styles of art he produced. He was definitely a talented individual and was not so stuck to the idea of perfection behind the artwork (linework, smudging, extra brushstrokes and sketching could be seen behind almost everything he made)."

Congratulations, Brigit!!
