Clinton Primary School student Juan Arroyo was awarded fourth place in the Southwest Regional Art Show in Arkadelphia for his Japanese brush stroke rendering of bamboo stalks. Adhering to the minimalist style of Japanese brush art, Arroyo practiced the technique extensively before using it to produce the final work on rice paper, CPS Art Teacher Diane Hollenstein said. The project was an assigned art work that turned into an interest, Arroyo said. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools\r\n
