Third grade students at Clinton Primary School played Color Me “Fruits and Vegetables Bingo” to learn more about the fresh fruits and vegetables which are provided to the Hope Public Schools Child Nutrition Program from the U. S. Department of Agriculture through the Arkansas Department of Education each year. Campus Nurse Geri Maxfield, LPN, left, and District Nurse Renee Sells, RN, moderated the games with 16 winners receiving goodie bags from the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service and Hope Watermelon tee shirts from the Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce. Sells said the USDA program has provided more than $800,000 to the school district for fruits and vegetables since 2008. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools
