HOPE – Winners from the 60th annual Hope FFA Rodeo have been announced by FFA faculty sponsor Christina Smith.
\r\nStudents competed in the two-night event in junior and senior divisions in 14 contests to determine overall Top Hand and All-Around honors which will be presented at the annual FFA Banquet on May 14 at the Hope Cowboy Church.\r\n
\r\nAll-Around Cowboy was Laion Brisby, who won the senior bull riding and hide ride, and placed third in bareback riding. Brisby was also named Top Hand.\r\n
\r\nAll-Around Cowgirl Savanna Collins came away from the two-night event without a win, but placed in six events, including second in senior pole bending, second in hide ride, third in goat tying, second in barrel pick-up, second in barrel racing and third in senior bull riding.\r\n
\r\nWinners by event in junior and senior divisions included:\r\n
\r\nBareback riding – Au’Vion Horton, first; James Deloney, second; Laion Brisby, third.\r\n
\r\nHide ride – Laion Brisby and De’Travonta Horton, first; Savanna Collins and Brianna Cole, second.\r\n
\r\nCalf haltering – Danya Muldrow, first.\r\n
\r\nWild steer tagging – Au’Vion Horton, Peyton Parker, and Nikorean Muldrow, first.\r\n
\r\nBarrel pick-up – Addy Peek and Zoey Cox, first; Savanna Collins and Brianna Cole, second; Sydney Parrish and Au’Vion Horton, third.\r\n
\r\nSenior goat tying – Ana Watkins, first; Kelsey Harris, second; Savanna Collins, third.\r\n
\r\nChute dogging – Au’Vion Horton, first; Nikorean Muldrow, second; Danya Muldrow, third.\r\n
\r\nSenior barrel racing – Kelsy Harris, first; Savanna Collins, second; Ana Watkins, third.\r\n
\r\nSenior pole bending – Kelsey Harris, first; Savanna Collins, second; Ana Watkins, third.\r\n
\r\nBull riding – Laion Brisby, first; Brianna Cole, second; Savanna Collins, third.\r\n

\r\nJunior goat tying – Paislee Singleton, first; Zander Smith, second; Blakley Glass, third.\r\n

\r\nEvents for youngsters included mutton busting and wild pig scramble. While records are not kept in the pig scramble, the winner of the mutton busting was Wyatt Ghormley.\r\n
\r\nThe FFA Rodeo Junior Queen competition was won by Ava McWilliams. Contestants were presented for audience participation voting each night.\r\n
