HOPE – The stars will come out Saturday when the HHS Student Council presents the Mr. and Miss Hope High School Pageant and Talent Show at Hempstead Hall.
Student Council sponsor Lena VanCamp said the pageant/talent contest is in its 11th year as the principal fundraiser for the HHS student government.
“All proceeds will go to Student Council to help fund campus-wide events like prom and homecoming festivities,” VanCamp said.
Curtain is at 3 p.m. Saturday in the main auditorium at Hempstead Hall on the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana campus. Admission is $5 for adults and children under age 5 are admitted free.
Junior Phillip Knighton and senior Lakin Hulett were crowned Mr. and Miss HHS in 2016.
Senior Mario Valdez was first runner-up and junior Matthew Tullos was second-runner up in the 2016 Mr. HHS contest. Iliana Martin, junior, was first runner-up and Alanis Flores, senior, was second runner-up in the 2016 Miss HHS pageant.
Talent winners in 2016 were senior Judith Artis; freshman Erounnia Hearon, first runner-up; and freshman Kelsey Reedy, second runner-up.
