A group of 25 students from Hope High School recently underwent an introduction to a variety of healthcare-related professions with “hands on” introduction at HealthCare Ignite 2017 on the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana campus. After a tour of the teaching facilities at UAHT-Hope, the group participated in a game of “Operation” to break the ice about healthcare skills. “Medical challenges” such as shaving an inflated balloon also demonstrated the need for certain dexterity skills. And, hands on practice in drawing blood from a lifelike teaching arm gave a sense of reality to the exercise. (See HHS Facebook page for more pictures.) – Terri Hoglund for Hope Public Schools\r\n
