Members of the Reserve Officer Training Corps attached to Hope High School attended the annual OBU/HSU Dining Out night conducted by the units from Ouachita Baptist University and Henderson State University in Arkadelphia recently. The evening is one filled with tradition for graduating senior cadets at both universities, who assume rank as second lieutenants in the military upon graduation. Master Sergeant (Ret.) Kenneth Funchess, USAF Aerospace Science Instructor, and advisor for the HHS ROTC unit said his cadets learned about military traditions such as the Missing Man Table and the Grog Bowl ceremony during the evening. Attending from Hope were cadets Zachary Johnson, Shaquayla Jackson, HHS JROTC graduate Adam Anderson, and cadets Gianni Trotter and Laith Zimmer. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools (Photo courtesy Dominick Cella)
