HOPE -- Madisyn Ellis of Hope, Arkansas, has been nominated for the 2021 TRiO Hall of Fame at the Arkansas Association of Student Assistance Programs. Ellis is a Senior at Hope High School and a concurrent credit student at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana, where she has been in TRiO Upward Bound for four years. After graduation, Madisyn plans to attend Clark Atlanta University.

Ellis said that she has been through a lot in the past few years but being a TRiO Upward Bound member has helped her. “I lost my mom in October 2020, but the wonderful people in TRiO and the friends I met there always encouraged me and motivated me to keep going,” she said. “I’d like to say thanks to TRiO Upward Bound for always supporting me.”

“Madisyn was always the first on campus and the last to leave during our summer programs,” Dr. Nicole Woods, Director of TRiO Upward Bound, said. “Madisyn was accepted to 10 colleges and universities across the United States. Seeing her strength this year has been an inspiration.”
