HOPE – The gals have still got it going on in the Hope FFA Rodeo.\r\n

\r\n

All-Around Cowgirl Savana Collins won three senior events, including senior bull riding, and placed second in one combined event to take the top cowgirl honors in the 59^th annual FFA Rodeo at Hope Fair Park Coliseum.\r\n

\r\n

Collins bested a field of 12 other riders over two nights of competition to win the most sought after contest in the rodeo, the senior bull riding. She took first place in two of the marquee cowgirl events, senior pole bending and senior barrel racing, as well, besting nine other contestants combined.\r\n

\r\n

Collins also teamed with Earl Downs Top Hand Award winner Kalvin Latin to take second place in the hide ride contest.\r\n

\r\n

All-Around Cowboy Laion Brisby won three events, including two team events and one single rider event, and placed second in another. He won the bareback riding contest against a field of six other riders; and, Brisby took second place in chute dogging.\r\n

\r\n

Brisby and Shelbie Godwin won the hide ride event, and he teamed with David Dixon and Spencer Collins to win the wild steer tag contest.\r\n

\r\n

Latin earned the Downs Award by placing second in calf haltering; teaming with Collins for second place in the hide ride; and teaming with Sydney Parish and Deshun Willis for second place in the wild steer tag event.\r\n

\r\n

Little Miss Zoey Cox was crowned FFA Rodeo Junior Queen 2018 by 2017 Junior Queen Braxtyn Ghormley.\r\n

\r\n

Little Britches Bull Riding – Hunter Robertson, first; Romello Jones, second; and, Israel Juarez, Jr., third.\r\n

Hide Ride – Shelbie Godwin and Laion Brisby, first; and Savana Collins and Kalvin Latin, second.\r\n

\r\n

Calf Haltering – Nikorean Muldrow, first; and Kalvin Latin, second.\r\n

\r\n

Goat Tying – (Juniors) Ava McWilliams, first; and, Addy Peek, second. (Seniors) Shelbie Godwin, first; and, Ana Watkins, second.\r\n

\r\n

Wild Steer Tag – David Dixon, Spencer Collins, Laion Brisby, first; Kalvin Latin, Sydney Parish, Deshun Willis, second; and, Auvion Horton, Shelbie Godwin, David Horton, third.\r\n
