Three 5th & 6th grade HopeBots teams competed at the VEX IQ Hornets Winter Tournament in Alexander, Arkansas on Saturday. The dedicated competitors showed 29 other teams that excellence is in Hope!
The Flamethrowers: Kayveon Anderson, Ella Bramlett, Graydon Randle, Johnny Parades
The Vexes: Samuel Fellows, Jazlyn Meija, Rey Mendoza, E'Mahree Muldrow
The 4 Musketeers: Taneria Frazier, Destiny Mercado, Emma Montalban
The Flamethrowers & The Vexes were paired in a final alliance after securing the first and second seed in the qualifying matches. With a driving score of 65, their alliance won the Teamwork Champions Award. Their performance as the top alliance earned both teams an invitation to the Arkansas VEX IQ State Championship in March!
The Flamethrowers were also named the Robot Skills Champions out of 32 teams with a combined driving and programming score of 84 points, currently earning them the 4th place overall in the state out of all 80+ teams.
The Vexes were right behind them in 2nd place with a combined score of 78, currently earning them 6th overall in the state. The 4 Musketeers rounded out the HopeBots in 8th place with a combined score of 40, earning them 23rd overall all the way up from 61st!
