Ribbon cutting ceremonies and celebration of the opening of the Dr. Henry C. Yerger School Museum were attended by some 200 dignitaries and guests of the Yerger Reunion Committee of the Yerger Alumni Association, and the Yerger Museum Committee. Original museum supporter Hazel Simpson and Yerger Museum Committee President Mary White opened the facility with the cutting of the ribbon, while State Senator Linda Pondexter Chesterfield, a Hope native and graduate of Henry C. Yerger High School, gave dedicatory remarks recalling the support of the Hope community and the YHS alumni that made the day a reality.
