HOPE – Despite cooler than normal temperatures, when the Kona Ice truck rolled up to the bus line curb at Yerger Middle School recently, a crowd of students who hit attendance goals for the nine weeks was there to meet it.\r\n
\r\nYMS Principal Josclyn Wiley said the students had met improved tardy attendance goals for the nine weeks under the districtwide Strive for Five attendance initiative. The program rewards students with attendance incentives for five or fewer absences and three or fewer tardy reports per nine weeks on the YMS campus. \r\n
\r\nStudents reaching the current goal at YMS included Aiden Aguilar, Luz Elena Alvarenga, Kaleo Anderson, Aldair Arizmendi, Jamesha Armstrong, Tylesha Armstrong, Shakira Arnett, Taylor Banks, Keyuan Booker, Pedro Cantu, Aldair Cardona, Julian Chapa, Grayson Cole, Alexander Cortes, and Ka’asijah Cox.\r\n
