HOPE – Hope Public Schools band students will have a full sectionals and rehearsal schedule this summer in preparation for the 2018-2019 music season.
\r\nHPS Bands Director Julie Gladden said part of the schedule will be announced in August, depending upon teacher professional development days prior to the start of fall classes on Aug. 13.\r\n
\r\nGladden said a major difference in the new summer schedule includes a free lunch for band students.\r\n
\r\n“Free lunch will be provided every day in the high school cafeteria at 11:30,” she said.\r\n
\r\nSummer sectionals Monday through Thursday throughout the summer are as follows:\r\n
\r\nMonday – Flutes, 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Clarinets, 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.\r\n
\r\nTuesday – Saxophones, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.; French horns, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.\r\n
\r\nWednesday – Trumpets, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.; Trombones, baritones, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.\r\n
\r\nThursday – Tubas, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.; Percussion, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.\r\n
\r\nBeginner band students will practice from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday throughout the summer.\r\n
\r\nLeadership, color guard and percussion camp will be held from July 16-19 at 9:30 a.m. each day.\r\n
\r\nFull band rehearsals begin July 23-26 at 8:30 a.m., and again July 30-Aug. 2 at 8:30 a.m. Rehearsal times Aug. 6-9 will be announced.\r\n
