Last week at Yerger, Mr. McCrary's Agriculture class began an experiment. They planted peas and corn, to examine the differences in their growth patterns and needs.
Today, we have an update to share!
The pea plants have sprouted quickly and have already started producing leaves, while the corn is growing at a slower rate, but still sprouted just the same!

From Sandra Rhone: Project Prevent sponsored Storytime and Easter Egg Hunting for Hope Head Start Students. Several Project Prevent members were awarded the opportunity to read to younger students while others hid Easter Eggs and waited for the excitement on the faces of the younger students.
This was a fun activity for the younger students and an extension of learning outside the classroom for Yerger Middle School 7th and 8th-grade students. Yerger students benefited by having time to develop their literacy skills. For instance, if a student is a struggling reader, they acquire confidence by reading to a younger student in a less intimidating environment, often by reading a lower-level book.
Project Prevent is Arkansas's statewide youth tobacco prevention coalition. Its members consist of local Chapters across the state that choose to live free from tobacco and nicotine and encourage others to do the same.

A huge shout out to Yerger's Agriculture class!
Today they began an experiment growing two different kinds of crops in class, to explore how these crops grow differently and have different needs to flourish.
Part of STEAM education is getting hands-on in class, and we love to see students getting their hands dirty, this time literally!
Mr. McCrary, you rock!
The Bobcat Clinic will not have physical health services on Friday, March 29. Please also be aware that CABUN Clinics will be closed that day for Good Friday. If you have questions about the Bobcat Clinic, please call (870) 722-2733.

ALL HPS Magnet Clubs will end on Tuesday March 26,2024. We have thoroughly enjoyed being able to explore student interest through after school clubs, and we look forward to more options for the 24-25 SY. All students will need to resume back to normal transportation on Monday and Tuesdays, unless your student participated in after school boost tutoring. If you have any questions please reach out to your campus magnet coordinator.
Thanks to Israel Diaz for providing a Spanish copy of the school calendar for 2024-2025!
