Students are excited and fully engaged for this new school year at Yerger Middle School. Full STEAM ahead!!
Yerger Middle School welcomes a new program to the 7th and 8th curriculum. This new program is called Project Lead the Way (PLTW). PLTW offers engaging subjects to challenge the students to advance to new heights. These offering include Flight and Space, Automation and Robotics, Medical Detective, and Design and Modeling.
Pictured is STEAM Resource teacher Matthew Molloy after receiving and dropping of the first load of PLTW supplies and equipment. Also pictured are Robotics students as they engage in learning to maneuver the Sphero robot with iPad technology.
Yerger EAST students Jayce Sampson and Devin Williams are fully engaged in learning to use new software and technology as they design and create their very own YMS EAST shirts.
Corporal Justin Dean, school resource officer for Hope Public Schools, made a surprise appearance in the Yerger Middle School Robotics class. Corp. Dean participated in the class discussion by providing information about robots and technology that can be found in police departments to aid with the day to day operations. He also provided great commentary regarding technology advancements in the home.
Yerger Middle School would like to offer a very special THANK YOU to some wonderful people and businesses for their donations of prizes and discounts on gifts for our staff. These businesses are Bank OZK of Hope, Brittney Purifoy owner of B'Unique Jewelry of Camden, and Felecia Price Stark of Etta Grace Creations of Gravette. Thank you Thank you Thank you! Our staff greatly appreciates your kindness.
Yerger Middle School has been a little quiet on social media. No worries! We are back! The Yerger family has been quietly kindling a STEAM fire!!! This year our statement of truth is "A mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled." - Plutarch
