Dear parents, This letter is to inform you that our 7th grade football athletes will begin practicing after school at Yerger starting this Tuesday September 3rd at 5:30pm. Due to the lack of time that we have with our 7th graders in their 1st period class, we decided to bring them back two days a week until the season begins and then once a week for the improvement of our student athletes. 7th grade skill development is vital to building a great football program. Thank you for supporting your student and the program. Practice will last for 1 hour and 15 minutes. We are trying to get all our 7th grade athletes current athletic physical so we can have everyone at practice on Tuesday. A practice schedule, football schedule, will be provided. You can contact Phillip Turner, at Phillip.turner@hpsdistrict.org or Head Coach Antwone Casteel at 870-5715169 or antwone.casteel@hpsdistrict.org if you have any questions. Practice Schedule: Tuesday- 9/3/24: 5:30-6:45 pm Wednesday- 9/4/24: 5:30-6:45 pm Monday- 9/9/24: 5:30-6:45 pm Tuesday- 9/10/24: 5:30-6:45 pm Wednesday- 9/11/24: 5:30-6:45 pm Practice Days will change when our 7th grade season begins because our 7th graders will play on Mondays. Practice Days will then be every Wednesday after school for the remainder of the season. Starting at 5:30pm. All junior high football players will get in free on Thursday and Friday night’s for games.

Let's talk about EAST! EAST is an amazing opportunity for your child (at every Hope Public Schools campus) to learn how to solve problems in our school and community using technology and community resources! When they are not working on projects (solving problems), they are learning new technology, helping their peers, meeting with community partners, or learning basic skills such as sending an email. We are looking forward to seeing the amazing things students (3rd grade through 12th) are doing in Hope, AR!

Arkansas State Law 27-51-1004: When the school bus lights are FLASHING, it means NO PASSING! Do NOT pass a school bus that has its flashers in use. Do NOT pass a school bus when children are loading or unloading. Let's be aware and be safe out there!

Hope Public Schools' Transportation Department will be in full swing beginning August 12, 2024. We would like our Community to please be aware of our students as they wait at the bus stops to load and unload their buses. "IF YOU SEE FLASHING, NO PASSING!" Arkansas law prohibits drivers from passing a stopped school bus that is picking up or dropping off passengers. This law is known as Isaac's Law, named after an elementary school student who was killed when a driver illegally passed his bus. Drivers who violate the law can face a fine of up to $2,500, up to 90 days in jail, and a driver's license suspension of up to one year. Motorists should always follow the law and drive carefully - especially when driving in school zones and around school buses! Never pass a school bus on the right-hand side, where children are loading and unloading.

Hope School District is excited to announce the use of Here Comes the Bus (HCTB). HCTB is a mobile app and website that delivers real-time school bus arrival and departure notifications to parents via mobile push and email notifications. Notifications are sent when the bus is nearby, practically eliminating the wait times at the bus stop. Students are assigned to the bus by the physical address that is on file with the attending campus. One thing to note is that the program will only track ONE ADDRESS. Many have more than one address that your student is picked up from or delivered to. If you want to make a permanent change to the address on file, please do this during the open house, August 8th. Instructions to sign up for HCTB are provided on the flyers. There will be a number of updates to make once school starts. Please give the Transportation Department a few weeks to assign students to their correct buses.
