Dear Parents: In an effort to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Beryl Henry Elementary School has organized a Dance Party to celebrate the “Muchachas y Muchachos” that attend our school and HAPS (5th and 6th Grade) October 12, 5pm-7pm. The theme is Muchachos and Muchachas which in Spanish means, boys and girls. Let’s all dress like latinos and celebrate diversity!
Here are the guidelines for our school dance:
Students must be checked-in and checked-out by a parent, which means that parents must be present at the check-in and check-out times.
Once they come in, they can’t leave the premises unless there’s a parent present to check them out.
Beryl Henry Elementary School will provide chaperones for the dance party to ensure a safe and fun environment all throughout the dance.
The admission fee is $5.00 USD at the door.
School Dress Code will be enforced as specified in the student handbook.
There will be a concession stand snacks such as candy, chips, soft drinks, hotdogs, pickles and nachos. The price range for the concessions will vary from $1.00 to $3.00
Students that have had multiple disciplinary problems aren’t going to be allowed to attend the dance. No Exceptions.
Also, as a part of our celebration, students will be allowed to dress to represent Hispanic Heritage Month on Tuesday, October 15, during our school day!

A lunar eclipse will be visible for people in Arkansas and Oklahoma on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024.
The partial eclipse will coincide with a full moon and a supermoon, which occurs when the moon is closest to Earth.
Best Time To Watch
The eclipse will begin at 7:41 p.m. Central Time, but it will be difficult to notice until the Earth's shadow starts to cover the top edge of the moon at 9:13 p.m.
The eclipse will peak at 9:44 p.m.
There could be clouds in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley, but conditions will likely be clear enough to see the eclipse.
The moon will finish exiting the full shadow at 10:16 p.m. and the partial shadow at 11:47 p.m.
What Is A Lunar Eclipse?
A lunar eclipse is when the moon passes into the Earth's shadow. This means that relatively little of the sun's light makes it to the moon.
The sunlight that does make it to the lunar surface has passed through the Earth's atmosphere. This light is at a longer, redder wavelength, making the moon appear red.
"It's as if all the world's sunrises and sunsets are projected onto the moon," according to NASA.

SPIRIT WEEK for Hope Public Schools Homecoming is September 30 - October 4 with Homecoming taking place on Friday, October 4. We apologize for any confusion regarding spirit week activities. Thanks!

HAPS TV is looking for sports footage! if you've taken any videos at football games, soccer matches, or any other sporting event, and you give us permission to use them in our TV broadcasts, please email them to haps.tv@hpsdistrict.com. Thank you!

As the home football season continues, we want to remind everyone about student expectations. We encourage our students to show school spirit and support our team, but it’s important that they adhere to home game expectations:
⚫️ Students are not to loiter behind the bleachers. Our students are expected to remain seated in the stands during the game, except when going to the restroom or visiting the concession stand.
🔴Students cannot sit on the top three rows of the stands unless sitting with a parent.
⚪️All after school activities are schools functions therefore our students are to follow handbook expectations. Any student that does not follow expectations may be asked to leave the game and will be addressed the following school day.
We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations with your child to ensure a fun and safe environment for everyone.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Go Bobcats!!
