Students and Staff kicked off Red Ribbon Week, dressing up in RED for some campuses and in Crazy Socks and Hats for other campuses! Everyone loved showing their style as we raise awareness of drug abuse and its devastating effects. #GoBobcats #ARRedRibbonWeek #HopeForTheFuture

Project Prevent Youth Led Fact Fed Annual Conference 2023 Yerger Middle School students recently attended the Youth-Led Fact Fed Annual Conference. This year's theme was "Changing the Game," the focus was to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to help change how others think about tobacco and nicotine. Currently, 9.7% of high school students in Arkansas smoke cigarettes, more than double the national average of 4.6%. Upon completion, students can provide tobacco education and help change the social norms regarding tobacco and nicotine use in their schools and communities. For more information, contact Sandra Rhone, Literacy, Instructional Facilitator, Yerger Middle School sandra.rhone@hpsdistrict.org

Autumn and London
YMS EAST students Miracle Glenn, Autumn Flenory, and Aiyanah Lloyd recently participated in a DSLR camera training. This EAST Initiative hosted training was student centered, hands on, and very engaging. Mr. Bob Ocken, veteran photographer of over 30 years, provided great insight and knowledge that gave the students the proper skills to take quality photos to enhance presentations, school media postings, videos and the annual school yearbook.
