Mrs. Shelman's class has been making amazing projects to add a bit of STEAM into Literacy Class.
These one-pager projects allow students to flex thier artistic muscles while still showing thier mastery of the content.
These come from thier recent unit on Lowry's "The Giver", a classic Science Fiction novel!

Yerger's 8th grade social studies class has been hard at work learning about the American Revolution!
Last week, Mr. Anderson took advantage of the weather and had his classes reanact major battles of the American Revolutionary War through structured games of capture the flag!
Hands-on simulations like this are just another example of how Yerger Middle School teachers are working hard to reach our students!

Yerger has brought Project Lead The Way onto their campus this year as we continue to add STEAM into our classrooms!
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.
Project Lead The Way (or PLTW) is a fantastic program that provides hands-on learning for students as we prepare them for the jobs of the future! In PLTW classes, students explore real-world problems and situations, and then create solutions for those problems and situations! Additionally, students explore careers related to the course's field of study, so they can be inspired to pursue those careers in the future!
At Yerger, we are currently offering Flight and Space, Robotics and Automation, and Design and Modeling.
Flight and Space
Ever wonder how airplanes work or how astronauts get to space? In the Flight and Space course, Students will explore the engineering and design behind Flight, including airplanes and how they work; and Space, where they will plan their own Mission to Mars! Throughout this course, Students will explore the science and engineering behind the world of aerospace through Labs, demonstrations, and model building!
Robotics and Automation
Robots, will they one day rule the world? In this course students explore the world of robotics and how they are able to solve problems all on their own! Students will explore Artificial Intelligence, build robots, and learn how to program them! This course will have students explore the physical and digital aspects of robotics and their real-world applications.
Design and Modeling
Everything around us started out as just an idea. In this course, Students will learn how to take an Idea and make it into Reality! Technical Drawing, 3D printing, computer modeling, and more are taught to students as they transform ideas into physical products, Culminating in students designing and creating therapeutic toys for special needs children!

Friday night is Senior Night for Hope Bobcats Football! Come out and support the team by showing off your Bobcats Pride! Wear your Bobcats gear and pack the place out!
