On Friday some of our BHE students wrapped up their 9 week Keyboarding class with Ms. Anna Gillingham! We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments as these students improved their WPM speed by an average of 35%. We are looking forward to seeing what the next 9 week crew does! Friday, October 11, 2024 Officer Keith Powell of the Hope Police Department came out to read to students in Mary Storey's K-1 ESL classes. The students have learned about community helpers and how the police are there to protect us and keep children safe. Office Powell and Officer Luke Sorenson explained how they use their tools to help others and let the children take a peek at the Patrol Vehicle. The students were ecstatic to meet the officers and to have officer Keith Powell read a Halloween book to them. I would love to thank the Hope PD for allowing the officers to spend time with our students and to show students that the police are here to be a friendly face they can depend on in our community. #GoBobcats #ALLIN #HopeForTheFuture 🚓🚨🚔📚

Carter’s Class presented CPS Librarian Casey Schoenberger with a check for $5650 this morning and still more money to come! Hope Public Schools is excited to announce its Aspiring Leaders Fellowship Cohort 2 participants! The fellowship is a two-year program that focuses on growing Hope Public School leaders to ensure that our school district has effective leaders who embrace change in a way that affects the hearts and minds of our stakeholders through empowerment, motivation, and ownership. Additionally, the program offers work-based opportunities for participants to develop new leadership skills based on capacity building that is low on “the blame game” and "high on support" through effective articulation of the rationale for change and work collaboratively in implementing prioritized needs in a way that is appropriate and beneficial to all stakeholders. The participants will be exposed to and apply new leadership skills provided through targeted leadership work-based learning opportunities and experiences.

October is National Bullying Awareness Month. On October 8th and 10th, Bobcat Clinic's Erika Stewart, RN, went to the Hope ABC Pre K and Hope Head Start campuses to read to the students! The read The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Teasing by Stan & Jan Berenstain.

The Bobcats had another great meet at the Scrapper Invitational. Both the Sr. High boys and girls teams finished in second place. The Jr. High boys also had a second place finish.
The senior boys were led again by Aniell Felipe (4th place) and Brian Jimenez (5th place).
Fabian Aguilar, Kevin Lozano, Nathan Sanchez, and Oswaldo Alvarado all had great runs finishing in the top 25.
The senior girls were led by Brianna Maclaughlin (3rd place) and Esmeralda Leon ( 6th place).
Ari Juanes had another great run finishing in 16th place. Sophia Johnson ( 22nd place) and Wendy Hernandez ( 26th place) are getting better each meet and finished out the top 5 for the Hope girls.
The Jr. High boys had their best finish of the year. Elliot Vazques and Christopher Bello led the way with a top 20 finish.
